Marked from the outside, but within the phantasmal soul
Created, constructed, nurtured and tortured
By every hand that touched him and every lip that kissed him
Feet touching the Earth as a sign of trust
A covenant, written, traced, marked and to be feared
Exploited, governed, ridiculed and systematized
The crackling laughter of the jester, the blood letting of peace
Circumcised, chosen, enveloped and redeemed
From the depravity of the wild, from death
A crime, a transgression, weakness and suffering
All within the confines of control, nothing passes by
A law, a code, a ritual and a myth
Decoded, encoded, substituted and reinvented
The past revealed as a burden on the present
The future unfolds as the deadly curse come to pass
He lives, he moves, he breathes and runs
Alive and free, marked with insanity by the maker
Memory erased from mind, body, soul and being
The perfect gift, a re-turn, a forgetting through grace
Every touch erased, every episode destroyed and love murdered
In-corporal yet within the body, human in the spirit
The ancestors pass by like the wind, breathe them in
Their remnants wiped out, their tears unaccounted
Man is free indeed - As free as a beast....
